Trying to arrange a lunch meeting at a half decent place with easy access to M1 anywhere between J24 and J26 as its approx half way for both parties

Dont really want to be driving into Nottingham/Derby if I can help it

Sat Bains is the best, but not "half decent".

The Hutt (more of a pub) on the A60 opposite Newstead Abbey is OK, but varied. Perkins in Plumtree is OK too.

The cafe in the Donington F1 museum? Not good food (its a cafe...) but great location!

A serious suggestion:

The Coopers Arms, Weston on Trent http://www.thecoopers-arms.co.uk/

Its where I met my wife for the first time.

yes

Haven't been there for a while, but it was always first class, and from what friends have told me more recently, I have no reason to think that standard has changed.
