This followed followed me in to Birmingham tonight. Didn't know what it was at first, as I think they were built before I was born. lol

Massive rear tyres, huge arches, cage, and recaros or similar.

Wondered if it's anyones on here or anyone seen it about? Sounded nice and was in mint condition.

Also saw an R8 Spyder which was cool, but found the old ford more interesting tbh. lol

The car I think you are referring to is a Mk4 - with the interesting optional extra (available through selected Ford Dealerships at the time the car was new) involving an Harrier Jet engine upgrade.

No mistaking a MK1 from a MK4 though, or even a Mk2 or Mk3

firstly, pics anyone?

secondly, thanks for stating you didn't know a mk1 escort because you're young. i'm off down the shed to blow my f***ing brains out now. that is provided my zimmer frame doesn't get caught up on anything on the way there.

lol

The kids I teach make me feel old on a regular basis, so I'm glad I can pass on the same feeling mate. I know it's only 20 years ago, but although I grew up around mk3/4 escorts I'd never seen a mk1 in the flesh.

I think it sounds like the one from Becketts possibly. Did that one have a cage fitted. Maybe it wasn't 'mint' close up. This was a driveby on the Hagley road remember.

I thought maybe it was this originally
