Fire near East Midlands Airport

What was that huge fire today, east of the M1, between junctions 23a and 22..?

Driving south, I thought it was a cloud on the horizon. Gantry signs suggested we should keep our windows shut.

Still burning six hours later.

I live 2 minutes walk from where the fire was.

Apparently there were explosions and everything. I must of slept like a baby that night because the first I heard of it was setting off to work in the morning and seeing a pitch black sky. I can only assume it happened in the wee hours because I came back from Notts around midnight and I would of noticed such a huge fire.

Roads still closed off mind...which spoils my prefered run to the M1.

I cycled past it this morning and it still stank....

i could see the smoke from my house... about 7 miles away from the fire, stunk something rotten in loughborough!
