first date pub/restaurant bristol or bath recommendations

 I'm going out on a date tonight with a girl/woman that I haven't seen since high school 24 year's ago Where would you recommend I take her .Any help would be appreciated

Cross Guns at Avoncliffe - a really beautiful spot on a sunny evening. I've never done it, but try going by train - it's a request stop!

Inn at Freshford - Gastro pub, up market feel.

Wheatsheaf at Combe Hay - combo of the two.

Belles Diner in Bristol. Then in true PH style take he home for a tipple of your whisky collection and a bumming.

The George Inn, in Norton St Philip always does good food. Really nice atmosphere as well. A few miles out of Bath though, might be in the wrong direction for you.

Or take her to the Milk Thistle for a cocktail, lovely old style bar. And very tasty mini burgers ( sliders ).

Then take her home and bum her.

Other places;

The Glass Boat ( a bit generic but foods OK )
The upstairs dining room in the Star and Dove ( apparently the medieval menu is very good )
The Clifton Sausage ( again IMO a bit overrated, but it's nice in Clifton Village )

In Bristol I would say Hotel Du Vin restaurant without fail.

Then onto the Milk Thistle - 2/3 minute walk

It's OK, for some reason I was under whelmed a bit. Maybe it was my mood though that day.

OP, you didn't state a budget by the way? What are you looking to spend? £20 a head, £100 a head? And obviously pub vs restaurent throws up some very different criteria.
