Even the police give you a weeks grace normally!! lol

but yup, tax disc is safely on the side in the kitchen waiting for me to remember to put it in the screen... doh!

The main thing is that the computers (ANPR) register the car as taxed, if you have the disc on your worktop.

Failure to display a valid tax disc is an offence by itself.

quite right, but less likely to get pulled for failure to display, than not having at all, as the ANPR will not put an alert up.
