Does anyone know of any places in Southampton that re-core car radiators. The Tiv has sprung a leak and the rad is pretty shot so its time for a replacement.

Before i go down the very expensive brand new Ali route i thought i'd look at re-coring. Must be Southampton area though.

Cheers

Don't be put off by appearances when you pitch up either. They're very good at what they do, despite looking like an allotment shed!

Wessex radiators is all you need to know.

He has supplied for projects I've been on; a radiator for a 1909 diesel locomotive and a rad for a Boxster S way cheaper than anywhere else! Can't get two more different products if I tried!

Just down the road from Wessex Radiators is the best Kebab shop I've tried! In the village, dead centre is a chip shop opposite a car dealers. Run by a couple of foreign gentleman who are specialists at the art of the kebab and chips! You can leave your car there and stroll down for a kebab while you wait!

hehe thanks for that, always handy to know!!

Seems like thats the place to go for a re-core if I go down that route. I've also since found out that a Ford Cosworth radiator is also a perfect fit (with a slight mod to mounting bracket). I can get a new Ali one for about £130 which doesnt seem too bad at all. Much better than £500 for a TVR replacement one!!

Just got to decide what route to go down now.

Anybody got any rough indications of a re-core cost from Wessex??

Basically you take off the ends and replace the core (middle bit)
