Cheap Van/Truck Hire in Poole
Discussion
I'm moving house in a few weeks and need a cheap van/truck hire company.
Having never bought a house before I've no idea what size vehicle we need or for how long.
Was thinking of a 7.5 tonne truck or 2 Luton vans.
Does anyone have any ideas on what is best or which company is cheapest?
Thanks in advance.

Oh yes they checked. Never knew I had a cat C on my licence. Had a look myself and I've got C1 and C1E. Found out I can drive a 7.5 tonne truck with a trailer so the combination weighs a maximum of 12 tonnes!
Any hints and tips for driving a 7.5 tonne truck?
Have you done the driving course for C, C1E? You shouldnt have them on your licence if you havnt done an HGV1's / Cat C course. Seriously, thats a dangerous prospect!!!!!Any hints and tips for driving a 7.5 tonne truck?

If you passed your test before 1997 you will have a cat C on your license. Just looked it up.
How do all these horsey mums drive the huge horseboxes?
Horse box might be ok, but i'd be seriously concerned if i'd had no training an was about to take an HGV or Bus / coach on the road. Crazy!!! Have you thought about getting a driver regardless? lolHow do all these horsey mums drive the huge horseboxes?

Have a few mates who drive HGVs so will rope one in with a case of beer.
Fair one. I mean, its not rocket science or anything but you need to know the different speed limits for HGV (not always straight forward), vehicle hieghts for low bridges, have some practice at manouvering, and little things like that. It doesnt take long to get competent but the HGV highway code is where you might get stuck / get a ticket.Eddie
