So I wonder what the outcome of this will be? The section of A27 between the Whyke and Stockbridge roundabouts has seen three pedestrian deaths in the last month, all I believe are homelees people going to St Josephs refuge.
So hysterical knee-jerk reaction with a speed limit reduction, pedestrian crossing or will they not do anything?
The hand wringers that run the refuge have declined to comment thus far.

The council should provide a taxi service so that these poor, poor people can get 'home' safely.

No fatalities among the tax-paying classes? They can go hang then.

BTW If they were returning after a day's drinking then of course it becomes an alcohol related accident thus providing ammo for those arguing for a lower drink-drive limit.
You can prove anything with statistics.

There was talk of putting a bridge over the A27 at the end of Whyke Road - can't see it ever happening mind you, not when they can't even find the cash to fix potholes. Most likely they'll try to get St Joseph's closed I reckon - they're already saying they can't take as many people in, due to some rubbish about having to have individual rooms rather than many people in large dorms.

Just very sad all round, there's many a good man finds himself sleeping rough these days...

What about a subway? They could busk, beg, sleep, sell the Big Issue and everything then.

pacman1, when interviewed for his post as Chichester humanitarian commissioner, declined to comment about his 'big picture' plans for the homeless other than to say he would be looking in to constructing multiple tunnels along the whole stretch of the Chichester bypass..........
