Anyone going ?

I was thinking of doing the two ringwood stages (5 & 9 and 7 & 11). Possible to walk between the two from car park B ?

I understand a couple of years ago that car park turned in to a mud bath, have they actually done anything to prevent it happening again ?

Not been before so I'm just trying to figure out if its doable, seems to be an easier plan than trying to go down to Wareham and try and chase.

I'm going, and I went last year too. The car park was a bit muddy last year but it had rained the day before as I recall so fingers crossed it will be a bit better- and it was much worse in the area where you walk around than it was in the car park area! Bring some wellies is my advice.

I don't know if the distance is walkable between the Ringwood ones but I'm not bothering with Wareham either, it's a bit far out really.

I am thinking of going this year, I haven't been before.

The map isn't that clear where the stages are actually held. I'm interested if anyone has any tips on the best spectator areas in the Ringwood/Verwood area to try and get some good photos!

For verwood I always park at ebblake and walk in it's not to far and tbh closer than the official ones. I do the Ferndown stages too as it's walkable from my house but like verwood there's loads of options to avoid the main carparks and walk in

Helping out with radio cover, probably for Wareham and then later on at Ringwood.

We are doing the refuelling so that will mean no seeing any action frown

From looking at the Sunseeker website, I think stages 5 and 9 are the Summerly ones which are charged seperately from the other stages. Ringwood North was the one served by the carpark at Plumleigh Farm. I think that a couple of years ago, this carpark turned into a bog and Ringwood North has ceased to be a "public" stage, which is a pity as it reduces the choice for spectators. Of course there are other ways into it, possibly from the Ringwood South stage car park and walking in via Eblake. Need to know what times the Ringwood North stages are run though.

Looking at the map - Is Ebblake the industrial estate area of Verwood? Would it be obvious where to go from there?

Are these stages (7 & 11) anywhere near Moors Valley or accessible from there - it looks like they might skirt close to the forest areas around it.

As Timbo has said, be careful of doing a 'forest event' then Somerley Park as that will cost £50! Which might be OK if there is 5 in the car, but a joke if it is just 1 or 2.

I think I will be doing Wareham, Uddens, and Ringwood North. Doing all of those should be fairly easy as the servicing times actually help this year for the spectator! Avoiding the car parks means you dont get stuck in exit traffic from the car park too.

I have always wondered where stages 3 and 4 are, anyone know? Whichever forest that is in, is never published.

Some good info. I had read elsewhere that some people park in the housing estate up from the industrial estate, sounds like a plan if the car park is going to descend in to a mire.

Had a look at the map and I think you should be able to walk through Sunderton Wood to get to 5 & 9 ? Not really interested in paying £25 to see a few rally cars parked up at Somerley.

When we've been to the Wareham stage in the past, we normally park in a lay by on the A35 between Sugar Hill and the Moreden crossroads and walk in. I've noticed that there is a stage that exits on the north side of the A35 at some point between those two junctions so maybe that's where 3 and 4 are. Where it enters I don't know but a decent OS map should show you. Obviously not a public stage but there is a RoW that crosses where I believe the stage goes so as long as you can park, access shouldn't be a problem.
A few hours with a map works wonders etc etc......

I'll be there again, running in the lunchtime Demo Runs at Somerley House... Gawd it was punishing last year, I hope it's not quite so potentially destructive this year... But I suspect it will be.

One of our groups quattros is a course car this year too.

Stages 7 and 11 are adjacent to Moors Valley Country Park and easily walkable.

Not the clearest website in the world but all the stage info you need is here:

I thought to myself, there can't be many people around this way called Crafty, then I just saw you post pictures of Mark's Hotrod. I was right, and small world!

I'm Alex's Mum's other half. If I didn't have a shagged ankle I would have been going down to watch this myself.
