The leather on the bolster on my fathers E92 M3 is starting to wear (along with some stitching) due to the way he seems to jump into the seat and he wants to get it sorted. whether it just needs re-dying or a bit of a re-trim or connolising or what i have no idea......any recommendations from personal experiences around here and any ideas on cost? the rest of the car is fine, it's just the drivers seat and almost all on the bolster on the right hand side of the seat.

thanks in advance

Ross

Recent post below has details of 2 x trimmers in soton, I used Hampshire trimming, but did visit the other guy (who seemed equally competent by the way) sure trimming may not be required though, maybe just some specialist TLC : I got a kit to do a Jensen Interceptor interior myself and with no previous knowledge did a great job IMO ;-)

I'm guessing that was you we saw earlier? We were in the M3 parked next to a rather lovely black M5 touring with ph stickers on. As we passed you I thought "that must be ecain63" hehe

i got bored so sat in the car for 45mins before they came back....your car was lovely by the way, i had a small nosey about. one of my favourite ever all round cars....certainly up there amongst the best of them. i mean, a nice estate car which is comfortable, quiet and refined....and has a 5.0 litre V10 with over 500bhp. i vow....i WILL go in one at some point. hope you had a good day.

Twas I indeed. You should have come and said hello. Lovely M3 and the best colour in my opinion. Sorry my car wasn't as shiney as normal, I had a sprint in the rain earlier so the usual gleaming finish wasn't there. Did you have a good day? We thoroughly enjoyed ours, as did the dogs.

didn't want to start talking about cars in front of your family hehe

the colour is silverstone II, it's a nice colour but hard to get a good shine from it. my old man didn't like it when i said i preferred your car hehe though he did agree yours was better.

it was a nice day out but i didn't have a warm enough coat (was cold for June!!) and the littlun kept throwing a tantrum so i sat in the car after about 2.5 hours hehe

cheers

I've seen that a few times already, it's a good one. Seriously cool car yours. Wasn't sure about the black wheels when you posted pics a while ago but they look nice.

Had someone ask me to get out of the car so he could take a picture of them both together rofl I may have taken one myself too boxedin

Cheers

in fact.....do you have any full size pics i could use as a desktop? biggrin really, really like that car!

any ideas what you'll replace it with when the time comes? the old man hasn't a clue what to replace the M3 with. 4 seats, manual gearbox, high revving V8 which is both sharp to drive and quiet and comfortable when you want it to be. a while ago he was considering an F10 M5, but he's not so sure now, he thinks he'll miss the NA V8. i drove it again earlier (admittedly only for 15-20 miles) and in reality, it really is as quick a car as you ever need 2nd and 3rd gears are hilarious and it keeps pulling in any gear.....god knows what your M5 is like!

Top Man thumbup

Appreciate it mate! Without being cheeky, any interior pics? hehe looks like you got a great finish there! When it's tidy, black looks fantastic. I spent about 20 hours detailing my E38 and it came up brilliant (see profile)

Thanks again,

Ross.
