'My DIY Garage', Soton - recommendation

One of the Alfa lot tipped me off about what is to me at least a fairly new concept; DIY garage hire whereby you can book a service bay with a lift to work on your car.

I have the mechanical knowledge of a baboon but I wanted to learn a few things, so come oil & filter change time I figured it was worth a shot. For me it's that, a long drive to the specialist or having a generic local garage do the work. The mechanic wasn't there but I met the owner, and he showed me through the work - was a real pleasure and cost next to nothing. Only issue was that instead of a half hour change I ended up chatting for hours and was late to see the missus!

It looks like a fine place to work to me; two post lift for now, clean and tidy, facilities and some tools on site.

It's a new business and I know the guy is a keen PHer (one of the Holden lads, don't know his username) who's keeping quiet about the place on here, so I thought I would lend a tip of the hat to Lee at My DIY Garage in West End, Southampton. Hopefully a few of you might benefit from it.

Interesting - however, it's about three units down from my usual indy (Sean at Iridium) so I might be noticed... Looks as though they do MOTs though, so I should be able to get a service and MOT done at the same time now. Yippee!

Weirdly I drove past this today and was going to post on here to see if anyone knew about it. Handy to know it's all legit as it's only a mile away from me!
