What to do in Brighton over Xmas?
Discussion
I might be heading to Brighton over Xmas (27th) to entertain the extended family but I've got no idea what to do or what's there. There will be me and the wife, my mum and dad, my brother, his missus and 3 kids (8, 6 and 18 months). What will fill a day, or a good 4 hour period at a reasonable price? My brother is coming down from Chatham to hand over the parents for new year so it needs to be worth his effort.
Your suggestions please........

Sealife Centre was shut for a few months while they did a complete revamp (well, they slapped some paint around and modernised a couple of tanks
) but always good for an 45mins-hour.
Then you have the Brighton Wheel which will kill 20 minutes.
Of course you have Brighton's 2 iconic visitor attractions of The Pier and the Royal Pavilion
Plus wander The Lanes for jewelry (you 'might' know a thing or two about this subject
) and oddities and The North Laines for antiques and furniture. Then add in the fact that Brighton & Hove has over 400 eateries (of greatly varying quality and price. If you want to do seaside fish and chips the restaurant on the Pier is decent enough despite being all 'Chas & Dave'...go for the jumbo cod
) I think you can easily use up your four hours

Just don't venture too far down seafront or you'll hit the nudist beach!
I can't imagine there will be too many naked folkson the beach at Xmas.
I suspect only the *really* keen will be down there at that time.
The mind boggles.
Whenever I've been to Brighton near Xmas, its been full
of drunks travelling to & fro from works Xmas parties,
so it would seem that most folks just concentrate on
traditional activities like drinking heavily at that time.
I do remember one pub still selling 8% Xmas Ale in February.
The landlord's name was Trevor ;->
The Royal Pavillion or the ice rink next door
http://www.royalpavilionicerink.co.uk/ lots of food places in that area as well or considering the ages of the kids a wander though the marina even a walk along the east arm then lunch and afternoon jelly throwing at some kids crying and screaming ressie like
frankie-and-bennys! good luck I'll decline the invite.
