Clutch problems on Alfa, advise please
Discussion
Hi all just some advice please I have a coupe GT which is the JTdiesel its 2006 . We have a clutch problem. When I press the pedal down i only get about 3 to 4 inches of clutch while at the bottom and clearly can't engage most of the gears it's being taken to a Halfords auto centre which wasn't my choice by the AA they're going to look at it later, i just want heads up before they start trying to rip me off ! any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Do a Google with "Alfa clutch issue. Heavy clutch" You will find loads of info. They are very prone to very heavy and failed clutch release due to the pivot shaft bearings seizing. They collect water & crap and basically corrode. Cables then stretch and you can't engage gear. Some have repaired these when picked up early enough by dripping DW40/oil along the shaft. It normally requires removal and shaft/bearings replacement. Most do the whole clutch and flywheel whilst the car is in bits.
Good luck
