Local Knobbage

just localising the "thing that make you think knob" topic to the in the Gassing Station to the immediate area.
Now, we're all guilty of being knobs at times, not least getting pulled on Thursday for answering my phone!! but one c*nt yesterday made me
Im following 3 cars on the outskirts of the Forest, outside of the cattle grids, all doing 30 in a 40. Being a patient sort of chap i stayed in line for about a mile before realising none of the others wanted to pass the sight see---r up front. On the next opportunity i indicated to overtake and the prick in the middle decided to swerve out trying to block my progress, what an absolute Knob!! firsly for attempting to block me and secondly for driving a bright orange Polo................rant over and flack jacket on,

There is a tiny village near where I live, it has a long straight road through it and the speed limit is 30, it is 30 because lots of driveways come out on it and a few roads. the 30 is sensible and I stick to it because it is a high risk area for collisions involving folk coming out into the road blind.
Today, driving at about 28 or so a complete tool in a large Volvo came past me like a bullet from a gun giving it all the fingers and horns. Why ? Ok, you can go fast but FFS do it somewhere sensible or the council will lower the limit to a (too slow) 20 and put bloody humps in.
Idiots ruining it for those of us who recognise that it is not speed that kills but inappropriate speed kills.

you know, that one over there, half a mile away. The one on the bit of road with no vegetation, dips or other obstructions anywhere near the road that other horses could hide behind
The New Forest is a funny place to go for a drive. There are some great roads tucked away, but a lot of grockles at times. You also get the people that slow down to crawling pace to pass horses on the side of the road. These are New Forest Ponies, the ones that have cars drive past them all day everyday. I never fly pass them, but there's no need to slow to a crawl when passing these horses, they're not the same as the horses people ride and they're not blinkered!
I have found at times some tourists move over and let you pass as they'd rather not hold people up when they're having a leisurely drive, but others do kick off if you overtake.
I only had one case of f
kwittery today, I was driving fairly slowly as it was a 30 zone and the car was warming, as I was approaching some green traffic lights. I got through but he person behind me didn't. His horn suggested he wasn't very happy about that!

im with you on this Dogleg, schools, villages etc, it wasnt the leisurely speed they were doing that wound me up, it was the way the knob deliberately swerved out whilst i was making a perfectly safe and legal overtake in good viability. some people just cant take being overtaken maybe??Today, driving at about 28 or so a complete tool in a large Volvo came past me like a bullet from a gun giving it all the fingers and horns. Women on the school run are another form of knobbage altogether, we live near a school and it is utter bedlam in the morning and afternoon, how there are not fatalities every day I do not know yet it is women who seem to moan about speeding cars the most.

Approaching IBM roundabout east bound 7ish tonight, in outer lane gaining on slower vehicle ahead of me, some t
t in a Cleo undertakes me and cuts in between me and the car I'm gaining on, there is barley a cars length and he swerves out just missing the rear end of the other car, criminal, and yet they get away with it.
Back on to the Island, over the bridge approaching Texaco garage, I'm doing 40 nothing in front and nothing for the length of the bridge behind, and some NOB pulls out of the garage in front of me making me brake down to 20, WHY do they do that.

Superb, what a bargain. My car is going well now the idling issue seems to be sorted. Can't find the time o use it enough! I love it! I'm just longing for sunshine and quiet roads. No mods just yet, just getting the Rovergauge for my laptop and then just a few bits to tidy it up, seals window runners, change the coolant sensor etc. then a major service, probably at Southways. bit different to the Brekkie meet!!!

May get an ACT intake for it, but I'm keen to leave it standard to be honest.

king tool taxi drive last night!
Was driving home and decided to go down Shirley Hight Street. Got to the ld OS building and this prick is sat right up my arse so I flash my brake lights at him, he continues to tale gate so I give him a proper brake test (was only doing 30). This really pisses him off and prompts horn and light flashing. He then over takes me (still in 30 res area) and stops I now think he wants to go tow to tow (misses is doing her nut) so I go to over take and he turns in so I can't. I then followed him all he way into Romsey (partly to s
t him up a bit)
What a f
king prick! Good news is I have his reg and will be calling Southampton Cit Council tomorrow!

Yup, it is utter knobbage, I think it is an extension of the queuing mentality and they think you are trying to jump some queue and beat them or something. I find it is blokes in people carriers or small cars that are most likely to "block" a perfectly legal and safe.
Don't forget the Van men also. Some not all do the same but I think it's for giggles more than anythingHaylingJag said:
Busted!! ill take that one
though i have already admitted f*ckwittery in the opening post!
We have all done it, the state of some of the drivers on the road, dordling along without a care in the world, the fact that they are causing 20 odd cars behind them to also do 20mph in a 50 doesnt even cross their tiny minds.
though i have already admitted f*ckwittery in the opening post!
The thing is a lot of us will admit we've done something wrong the problem with "them" is they do not even realise they've done something wrong.
I got annoyed yesterday along the A32 from Wickham to Alton. White van man plodding along at around 50 slower for corners so I overtook him every 30mph limit he'd be tailgating get to the national and off I'd go again went on all the way, we pretty much arrived at the destination the same time, its a 30mph speed limit in them villages for a reason!

Yet you don't see your own driving shortfalls?
