Chips and crazing repairs
Discussion
I'm sure this has been asked before, but I think there might be some new stuff out now, so apologies but any ideas please?
The front of my car is peppered with 10 years of stone chips, and the plastic bumpers are lightly crazed in places where you can see the white base layer - I know it will need a full repaint to get back to former glory, but I dont want to spend that sort of money on this car, I just want it a bit more presentable...
Any recommendations for anyone who does this sort of thing (preferably a mobile set up) on the East side of Southampton?
Thanks

A name ross?
His name is Steve, available on 02380265289Basically, if you head down Falkland road which is just off Leigh road in Eastleigh.... Take the first left into cox row then 2nd right into Sussex road.
You really wouldn't think it based on location etc but it's a sole man unit, in his garage but does top work and his prices are absurdly cheap, frankly
My car is going to him Friday to sort out the front splitter, crazing in the boot, a scrape on the rear bumper and have some plastic trim by the boot re-done as it's scratched where people have put stuff in the boot.... All for approx £150!
He does have about a 1 month wait though...
If you speak to him tell him Ross with the bmw 7 series going in Friday and matt with the gold mx5 sent you (he'll know who we are!)
Can you take before and after pictures as I am after some work done on my car as well thanks to an anonymous supermarket food delivery van and I work not far from there.
Edit: I assume he is a SMART repairer so will push the dent out first using their witchcraft rather than fill, sand, paint, etc?

Sure thing will try to get some shots at some point tomorrow. Annoyingly I don't think I'll be able to wash the car beforehand... But it's pretty clean so should be able to show up the issuesI I'm on about.
Cheers.
Got the car back and have to say I'm pretty pleased. Crazy price too....
Front splitter, rear bumper, top part of boot, plastic window surrounds and some trim (black) on the boot all done for £110
You'd have to be really looking hard to tell it was done, and looms much, much higher better than it did. Took before and after pics will get them up some time this week.

Sorry to bump an old thread but did you upload any pictures?Front splitter, rear bumper, top part of boot, plastic window surrounds and some trim (black) on the boot all done for £110

just 2 before and 2 after shots, it's quite clear what's been done. As said, he did that section of the boot, the black plastic trim around the bumper and all the window surrounds, the whole rear bumper itself AND the front splitter for a little over £100, which is frankly absurd.
Not a perfect job but you'd really have to look to find any evidence of the work and a much better finish than it was before

thoughts?

Bloody fantastic!
I will definitely be using this chap in the future.
my only gripe was he did a light polish on surrounding panels and did leave some swirl marks which were only visible in strong sunlight (but other than the scrapes/issues etc my paint was in very good shape after i went over it with a rotary polisher for 10 hours last year!) so I am being fussy and they came out pretty easily again I will definitely be using this chap in the future.

Is that the 'not perfect' part or is there something else as it looks pretty damn good from the pictures.

If you look extremely close (pics won't show it) there aren't as many metallic flecks in the resprayed area so it does look SLIGHTLY different to the original paint but you really really need to look.
