Just seen two Typhoons coming into land at Bournemouth airport. There
had been a lot of Chinook action and some Tornados recently.
Air show prep or something else? Any ideas?

Bournemouth Air Festival 29th August. Probably there early for practice.
Was there for the show last couple of years, great time, amazing having the displays over the sea.

the typhoons and i would guess the Chinook too are based at bournemouth for the dunsfold wings and wheels events this weekend (one typhoon would be back up) not sure if you had seen a tornado though ?..no role demo this year at any event.

Two Typhoons did a low pass over Cowes (Isle of Wight) Friday around 1.30pm

Have not seen a Typhoon round here before.

Just been up there and got chatting to some ground crew.

It is the build up for the attack on Syria. Also saw two piper cubs and a Cessna bombed up and ready to go. smile

There is only one complete Typhoon in existence. You'd need to go to the RAF museum at Hendon to see it....

They have also been attending air shows etc.

Surely if they were ready to go to Syria, wouldn't they be at an airbase instead of a passenger airport? confused

(I do not know anything about the RAF!)

There is also a replica that uses original parts at Le Memorial de Caen in Normandy. This is a very thought prevoking museum that has exhibits covering WWII, the D-Day landings and the Cold War. It shows how all sides involved in the different campaigns were affected.
Excuse my terrible photo. It is all I can find from my visit in 2005.
