I'm looking to hire a spot welder for the christmas holidays, i have a rusty golf thats slowly going back together. I've been looking for one for sale but seem to keep missing out.

Anyone know where i can hire one of have one i can hire?

Cheers

I don't think a spot welder is the best tool for the job.
Fine for mass production on fresh clean metal but far from ideal for repair work.
You will find access is the biggest problem. Car manufacture will use several different spot welders all with alternative arms and hoops for the electrodes.

If you want to mimic a spot weld you can drill one sheet and weld through the hole onto its mating sheet.

A spot welder is definetly what I need. Where possible I'm replacing entire panels which require spot welding in place. I don't really want to plug weld as it won't give the finish I'm looking for and will burn off more weld through paint.
A spot welder will also be quicker.
Thanks for the input though.
