Does any one know the story behind the Dummies that have been in the window for as long as i can remember (15 years)

They seem to change their outfit every couple of days, always there whatever the weather

I noticed that they've had new windows installed

heres a streetview link https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=bishops+waltham&a...

In addition to that does anyone remember / have stories of Nutty Norman and the whistling lady of Waltham chase. I interacted (got shouted at!!) by these characters around 1999 - 2002

Cheers

There are two brothers living in the house one a car dealer the other a farmer. The dummies are replacements for girlfriends. The fact they are at the open window suggests that they are waiting to be rescued by someone. This maybe the case as one of the brothers looks like Rumplestiltskin!!!!!hehe

Roger, the owner dresses the dummies to suit the weather and enjoys the eccentricity of it. He also has a few toys - including an Ultima and a 993, but rarely/never uses them.

The Dummies were retrieved out of a skip on the way home from a drunken night out at Martine's in Eastleigh. Roger put them in the garden originally as a scarecrow but had to remove them when someone stopped to steal them one night and caused an accident. Apparently when the Police arrived Roger was more concerned about the attempted theft than the poor chap who had the accident. They have been inside the house ever since. They get good and bad attention. They have had eggs and flower thrown at them and even been shot at by some form of pellet gun. But on the other side people often wave and the Dummies even get left Xmas presents on the door step. Some nights, very late people park out side beeping their horn and speed off as soon as a light comes on in the house. In general I think people like to see them and what they might be wearing each day. Well it certainly gets everyone talking. It would be interesting to know how far away that it actually gets talked about. Long live the Dummies.

All true as far as I have been told. My source is a friend who is Roger's cousin and lives next door to him. They have had many stories about the Dummies over the years. Was in the early 90's so they must have been there over 20 years now. Well at least Bishops Waltham is famous for something I guess.

In that case does Riva Dyer count as a famous actress who like Amanda Holden also came out of Swanmore College. Good old Bish City. I thought I was the only one who called it that. I moved out of Waltham Chase to go to the big Bish City for all the Glammer and lights a few years back. It seems to be more famous than I thought, maybe it will be the next TOWIE. Lets hope not.
