I first asked this in the Events section, but I think it may be more relevant here as I am looking for South coast based Phers.

Would anyone be interested in a jaunt to drive some decent roads in Wales?
Maybe as far up as the Evo triangle, but there are lots of great roads further south.

I will, in all likelyhood go anyway, but always more fun with a group.

Went last year and would like to go again.

Yes, my brother and I had planned to go at some point this year. We were planning on staying in the Metropole Hotel, as this is where Petrolhead Nirvana stay, and they seem to rate it very highly:

My brother did plan out some routes. I expect he still has them.

Excellent, let's wait for the results and that would make 4 of us. I really want to put the Cayman through its paces. I took the C63 up there and it performed admirably.

Also, my amazing wonderful better half (she is making me type this), she asks have you got permission from your wife?

I obviously don't need permission and I can go where I like, when I like (she has left the room).

I may be up for this if you have room for one more? It'll depend on dates.

Not wanting to highjack the thread but!!!! I have been looking at putting a trip together to the Isle Of Man if anyone is up for it? De-restricted roads and understanding locals. You just need to keep it sensible. I have a few people to run the idea past whilst in Le Mans next month so I'll know more then.

That's great to hear, Eddie. It might be just what you need to blow the cobwebs away. Although, I dare say baby has blown a few away.

Ok, let's try and get the ball rolling. Does anyone have a preference for weekdays or weekends?

Obviously weekdays will be far quieter and for me weekdays are often the best choice as I work shifts. I do realise that people have finite leave opportunities.

Does anyone have some rough dates on mind? Or conversely, any to avoid?

So long as ive got a bit of notice i could possibly do a weekday trip, but weekends are generally better for me.

I would like to run up the Black mountain pass to get there, so that means from cardif, we head to Neath and turn a little north and pick up the A4069 near Pontardawe.

I probably only have one or two more weekends free this summer as we have a stupid shift pattern at the moment. But I can put some leave in if necessary as I am probably in a minority of preffering weekdays. smile

Also, probably should have mentioned, I am planning one overnight stop. It's a long way up and back! It may be obvious, but I thought I'd better mention it.

OK, I will be going up at somepoint this summer. So does anyone have any preferred dates?

I would certainly like to try and arrange this, while we still have a chance of some good weather.
