If you're after quality, the best places in the forest are:
Lime Wood
The Pig
The Mill at Gordleton
Even if you don't stay at any of them, they're all worth a visit for just a walk round or for dinner. They are all absolutely fantastic.
Middling is Careys Manor if you like a good spa, revamped restaurant is pretty good too.Lime Wood
The Pig
The Mill at Gordleton
Even if you don't stay at any of them, they're all worth a visit for just a walk round or for dinner. They are all absolutely fantastic.
Top draw is Chewton Glen near Christchurch, pretty expensive but unsurpassed service.

My girlfriend works at Lime Wood so we stay and eat there (and The Pig) quite a bit. It's always perfect. Although I am biased!

To be fair, the last room we stayed in was usually £850 a night, so it was pretty good!
