Good dog walks in New Forest

I live just off the A326 at Applemore, and am getting a bit bored of the same old dog walks. We normally head up to Dibden Enclosure or Marchwood Enclosure, sometimes out to Yew Tree Heath, Deerleap or Shatterford.

This weekend I went over to Acres Down Woodland which was utterly stunning http://www.ifootpath.com/index.php?option=com_wrap...

I know the forest quite well, ride on and off road round the area but I'm looking for other suggestions on where to walk the dogs occasionally. I normally have a 2 year old in tow, so needs to be sensible(ish) and ideally be able to take a pushchair if required. Dogs to remain off the lead during the walk.

Where should I try next, within half an hour or so?

I know it's a bit further but there's some lovely walks the other side of the new forest near Southampton.

If you start near Weston shore you can pretty much follow the solent for miles, depending how far you want to go and if you don't mind your dogs getting a bit wet!

Also a bit further you can start in warsash at holly hill and walk all the way through to the beach and then down the front and it brings you out by a few really nice pubs (dog friendly) for lunch and always worth a look in at the "prestige" used car dealers in warsash. They normally have a nice sports car or two there.

Not quite what you were looking for but it's a nice change and a good day out. I'm sure someone will pop in with some new forest recommendations soon.

I used to walk the dog around this bit : https://goo.gl/maps/Ez8ZL Down SW there is a wooded part that follows a river, makes a bit of a change from the usual bleak scrub land! (And if you find the bridge over the river, you may still find pieces of the green mx5 I stuffed into the railings after sliding on black ice )

Also Bolderwood, they feed the deer in August.

Darkwater, I know it well. I remember the rails being trashed too. Used to live near Roughdown.

Ashley bombing range looks really interesting. I ride Rodger Penny way often but have never headed down into the dip. Good idea.

Knightwood Oak looks like a contender too, not too far away either.

Have ridden Bolderwood quite a bit. Should try walking it I guess. Always busy tho. And you have to pay to park. I hate paying to park.

Thanks for the suggestions. Its definitely worth considering, but I'd need to drive into town which is a pain (and why I cycle to work)

Did you ever do backwater tall trees trail? It has a couple of the tallest trees in England always fun to visit.

It is on Rhinefield ornamental drive, below. It also makes for a lovely night time or sunny day drive in a sports car with the roof down or family cruiser.

Not in the forest but goatee beach is good, I usually go when something good is in port

The there is the marsh land board walks just over the road between totton and nursling
