Last minute decision, going to spend the weekend in the New Forest. No idea where yet, will find somewhere to stay i'm certain.

Can anyone recommend some good pubs & restaurants to head for lunch tomorrow ? I'm easy on location but was going to head down towards Bealieu to start with ( if thats a good idea of course).

Thanks!

I probably sound like a broken record because I always recommend this place, but The Mill at Gordleton is worth a trip and not too far from Beaulieu.

The Red Lion at Boldre is also very good, a proper traditional country pub. The building is hundreds of years old so it's worth a visit. Food is excellent there.

Any pub added to this list I will probably visit over this summer. If its put on PH it should be low car friendly!

I stayed in the Angel and Blue Pig in Lymington. Food was good, nice cocktails and beer.

thanks to TackMEU - the White Buck at Burley was indeed excellent. Very civilised and excellent food. Thanks for the recommendation.

The Pig was also mentioned in this thread. You need to book well in advance to get a table at busy times.

Try The Chequers in the marshes south of Lymington, proper pub, smoking in courtyard, stunning barmaids and a grumpy landlord!.As petrol heads you will appreciate that within 500metres lives koeneseggs, several DB`s,a supercharged Bristol and others, all you have to do is find them!
