What is that constant thumping sound coming from the Portsmouth Harbour area? I live in Portchester and can hear it pounding away from 0730 in the morning. I assume it is a pile-driving machine.

People who live close by must be going insane...

It's probably the dredging machine that's lowering the sea bed in the harbour for the new aircraft carriers.
