Christchurch Supercar Show 15th May
Discussion
When their Facebook page went live they got a lot of "feedback" questioning the fact that they were "inviting" car owners to bring their cars, but were charging them (£20 IIRC) to do so.
They deleted all the "feedback".
I made a comment observing that there wouldn't be much of a show without the owners of said cars spending half a day prepping their cars and perhaps travelling some distance at their own expense. That got deleted.
Still considering giving them my time I then asked if the cars would be in a roped-off area or just parked up along the high street.
When I got a Facebook notification that they'd answered my question, I clicked through to find they'd actually just deleted it.
At that point my "can't be arsed with idiots" reflex kicked in; so we'll be off to watch the GT racing at Silverstone
Christchurch Food Festival was fun yesterday so I guess this could be good too, but just with less food.

I've heard some really odd things about the event. Cars of considerable interest being turned down as they weren't 'super' enough (what does that even mean nowadays?!) and others put on waiting lists due to numbers, yet no confirmation of actual numbers or who is in attendance.
Most odd.
I'm in Bruges anyways so sadly will miss whatever happens regardless!

Went to the show today. A pretty good effort for the first one but the Organisers should be ashamed of themselves by not cordoning off the cars (only 4 were). I was cringing at the kids, prams, shoulder bags and cameras squeezing between the cars. I hope none of the owners had any damage.
The show was billed at ending at 4.00pm. Got back to the High Street at 3.45pm, but everything had gone - tut, tut.
The classic cars on the Quay were a great addition to the show.

I agree with the other comments; the Classics on the Quay were far more interesting and pleasant to view.
The High St just isn't wide enough to cope with static displays and the volume of pedestrians (I thought the same about the food fest - much better on Quay).
When everyone is crowded around the cars no one can see them properly.
I was there 12:15-14:15 and didn't hear any commentary??

we watched the cars leave the meeting point, much better to see them accelerate along the road
then walked round to the high street, the parking of the supercars had been well planned and they fitted in the limited space ok.
The pedestrian numbers where massive, and as others have said, far too many chances of cars getting damaged. I wouldn't even want to put my cheap Audi in that massive crowd.
I didn't hear any commentary, somewhere on either facebook or their web page it did say the supercars would leave from 3.30pm.
roping off could be tricky on tarmac, as you don't want the stands pushed over onto the cars.
Classics on the quay was a good sideline, with far more space. would agree the food festival was just as caos with such a massive volume of people attending.
