Loft conversion company recommendations Sussex?

Can anybody recommend a loft company in Sussex please, ideally from personal experience?

We're not looking for anything too spectacular but a recommendation is always preferable to a random pick from the Google search results

We had ours done by a firm in Worthing/Rustington. Not without its issues but the generally the tradesman did a good job. The guy who owned the company Jim, was a disaster so avoid him. I have more details if you need to know.

You're not selling it very well
Wouldn't I need to deal with the boss, or are you thinking I could get the tradesman on his own?

He did a large loft conversion for us a couple of years ago (added three bedrooms and a bathroom) and then took out an internal wall last year too. Worth a call and he'll be well booked up as well I'd expect.

Many thanks for that suggestion. Got a third estimate coming on Saturday morning; we'll see whether all three are in the same ballpark before contacting AMBower. (With the two estimates we've had so far it's not really worth the cost of the conversion.) If there's a chance one of the three could end up cheaper then it's worth us still getting more estimates in.

I think a key architect is key. We had a young guy who was keen to try new things rather than going for the typical unattractive style. Worked really well. I would spend time looking at the fine details too. There's quite a few things we would now change that we have lived in it for a while. Also it can lead to the wife wanting new this and that to match. Cost a fortune!!

Thanks for the thread resurrection - We haven't had much luck with the third estimate (what is it about these companies that means they take weeks to reply with any kind of accurate estimate?) so I'll approach those latest two for ideas as well.
