Parking in Winchester on a Friday morning

where is best to park in WInchester on a Friday morning? I've got an appointment with Leightons opticians at 0930 in the morning who are based here

Either Chesil Street MSCP or Tower Street car park. You're about half way between both.
Both are secure and have cameras.

Do you know if the payment machines accept card, or is it coins only?

Chesil Street has card machines (I think on the odd-numbered floors), which will also accept coins. £7 for a full day.

Tower Street MSCP takes card but as I recall it has a minimum charge of £4.50 which is 3 hours. One or two hours are available by coin only.

Nice one chaps, appreciate it. I'll have to be relatively early as the traffic heading into Winchester in the mornings is pretty horrendous!
