...loud and clear inside my flat!
for the last 3 saturdays there's been a loud droning sound coming from the sea nearby.... there have been some seriously quick and fairly loud speedboats out ocassionally testing in Bournemouth bay through the last few years, but three weeks ago i saw this powerboat for the first time.. it can be heard very loud and clear all round the bay to swanage and probably 1/2 a mile inland...and what a sound! can't trace it on the P1 powerboat w/site from it's graphics, but it might just be appearing in the world sea grand prix championship this year - i'll definitely be checking it out at Cowes (didn't realise there was a Powerboat grand prix that week). think it's a pair of V8s, 8-12ltr... it's doing around 100mph and drinking 1gal/mile
if you've got a decent hi-fi nearby, plug it in!

Loud no sh*t! I could hear them at work near wallisdown and my parents could hear them in muscliffe!!!

Awesome sound, I'd rather hear that than chav's on their 50cc ped's with 'sports' pipes!!!

it's played loud a few times in my flat lately... think the neighbours are sick of this boat!..Wallisdown...wow
did wonder if the keep-the-peace police would get narked....
...i could see how much fun the crew were having as they headed back to poole harbour...circling fast around the support boat as it headed in

A couple of years back I went to Hunstanton to see my cousin driving a boat in the world waterski racing championships. His boat had a supercharged large-block Chevy engine, complete with S/C! One of the others had a V12 Lambo engine. When they were out testing at first light the sound was amazing, the Lambo engine was so distinctive... And LOUD!
