I've got the joys of a meeting at MB World on Wednesday morning; just a question really for all you M3 commuters what sort of time to allow. I know there is a contraflow at J4/3, but how much is this slowing things down?

I was thinking of allowing about 2 hours, is this sensible?

Thanks for any feedback.

I used to do this exact journey (Bournemouth town centre to Weybridge) every other week for two years at uni. Although I mostly travelled later in the evening and was often able to do it in around 1 hour, I think 2 hours during the day is sensible, although if it is rush hour maybe leave nearer three to be sure.

Distance wise I believe it is about 90 miles if you take Junction 3 off and go through Chobham/Woodham/Addlestone.

Matt - I would be looking to leave at around 7.00 / 7.30am. The M27 / M3 gets really busy at around 7.30am onwards and I would want to be beyond Winchester by then.

If you are running early, then you can stop for breakfast at Fleet.
