Anyone know of a decent wheel refurbisher in the Southampton area? I have four knackered Speedlines for the 205, which is desperate for new tyres, and I don't want to put them on the old SMRs.
I was going to attempt to refurb them myself, but I really don't have the time between now and the 'ring trip in August.
Anyone got any recommendations?

Think most people on here would recommend The Wheel Specialist in fareham.

They quoted me £300 for 4 wheels on the VX which I thought was fairly pricey...?

I emailed them asking if they could come down a little on the price and I haven't heard anything back, that was last week. They probably think I'm a pikey git.

Will be cheaper if you can leave the car floating and take the wheels to them. They did my Clio V6 wheels for about £240- fantastic job and service- highly recommended.

Yeah, that's more the price I was looking for. That was for a full refurb in gloss black (standard turbo wheels) - strip, refit and balance.

I'll give them another call this afternoon. Cheers Darren.

Yeah, these are four standalone wheels, no tyres, no car!

Hmm...I wonder if it would be cheaper to get my local tyre place to take the tyres off for me and just drop the naked wheels up, and then refit afterwards.

I would rather have them fit the tyres back on to fresh rims, take more care and if anything happens they would sort it out rather than some monkey not taking care with your wheels you just spent £££ getting refurbed!

Sweet, cheers for recommendation guys - got them booked in for Thursday now, £207. Bit pricey, but I really don't have the time to get them done myself, and I'm sure this job will be miles better on them.
Now, what to wrap them in? 888s? scratchchin

I paid £330 for M5 chrome shadow finish - 18inch. They origionally wanted £380 but I told them I had just lost my job and couldnt feed my family. The £50 reduction was for passing the 'man test'.

Got the 220 booked into the Wheel Specialist on Monday 10th August now. Managed to negotiate down from £300 to £260 so not bad in the end - nice sounding woman on the phone. That was for 17", full refurb in gloss black, strip refit and balance.

Got the car back today, went from this:

to this

Very happy, ace quality of work. They're just doing the centre caps for me over the next couple of days as the badges are a bit of a pain to get off.

I'll spray the V black now and get the windscreen surround done to match, and job done.

And that disabled space is no longer valid before anyone starts! smile
