Buy a cheap saw hand saw from B&Q cut the required sized hole allowing for the thickness of timber lining glue some fixing blocks in the cavity with some no-nails type glue screw the lining in,trim with some architrave any gaps can be filled with some painters mate ,paint and sit back with your 20th cup of tea and say ,i wish i got a professional into do this

LOL John, you sound pretty professional to me... 20 cups of tea per door frame is about right too...
