We've bought a bungalow/building plot at Ropley, and have been informed by the neighbours that people have been hanging around...

We were wondering if there is anyone out there that has a spare car (road worthy so we can get it there) doing nothing that you would like to get out of the way for a while, to sit at our plot to make it look like someone is living there. As you can gather the neighbours are keeping an eye out for us.

The last thing we want is a battle to get rid of pikeys or the like (Ironic you are welcome to stay on site if you wish wink I know a drive in the diablo would tempt you to move out biglaugh)

Thanks Guys/Gals

I live in Ropley, which lane is it in??

Edited to add - PM me, if I can help I will. Doubt it's Gypsies as we've just spent the last 8 months getting rid of them.

Does said building plot have a house on it at the minute so that it could look like someone is living there?

It does have an old bungalow on it so it will look like someone is living there.

Clearly I just want to shift our old car, but.... if you're passing the Eastbourne area (you never know...!) then for a sensible offer you can have our tatty 850 T5 to take away and park there for as long as you like!

If the bungalow has power you could stick a couple of lights on a timer to make it look occupied. The guy next door to us also puts an old radio on to make the place seem occupied too.

Have you thought of attaching some life size cardboard cut out people on a hornby train going round the living room with a light behind them and the curtains drawn, leave a stereo on and it will look like there is a party going on. It worked in Home Alone!

Chrissy - Ropley is part of my patch so if you let me know where it is I can keep an eye on it for over the next couple of night shifts.
