Anybody in the Gosport area (I'm looking at you luke...) who might be available on Sunday to help change the cam-belt on an MX5? My friends one bust and we're going to sort it this weekend, but obviously someone who's done it before and encountered any pitfalls would be useful to have along wink

Dan you loiter around in the right 'circles' to know the right people for this.

I'm working a morning shift on Sunday, but if I'm about I'll definitely try and get myself down there. smile
I won't be that useful though as mine was done when I bought the car, I haven't had to do any work on the car!

Have you used the miata.net workshop manual? They do some superb guides, I'll find the cambelt change one. smile

Cheers for the advice Luke, as it happens he's found somewhere that'll do it for £200 all in, so in the interests of having a working car (ie, one I haven't touched) he's gone with that option tongue out

Matt, I've met Umair and Luke, surely that's enough of the right circles wink

£200 isn't bad, is that just fitting?
One quick thing, make sure he gets the waterpump done, they don't last much more than the 60k (or whatever it is!) interval for the timing belt and it's not much more work to get it done. smile

Out of interest, is that at the Gosport Mazda and Ford specialist?
Mine's (over)due a service and I'm going to pop it over to MX-5 parts in Fratton as they do a full check over on the car as well. smile

I'll pass that on cheers mate - it's just fitting, it's at A&S Motors next to the fire station in Gosport, I've always had good experiences with them when I've used them myself and so have several of my rather discerning friends.

As for Mazford (or Forda, whatever they're called) I have no idea about them, sorry! tongue out
