Castle Combe Race Day Monday 30th Anyone?

Hi,

My girlfriend and I are going up to Castle Combe on Monday to watch a few friends racing. It's the bank holiday race day, Ferrari's, Aston Martins, Porsches, Formula Fords, Super Saloons etc all racing. Should be a good day and good weather I think (hope!).

Anyone else going?

I'm hopefully going to this one - it was excellent last year. I also went to the Diamond Anniversary meeting at the beginning of this month which was equally good.

Confirmed we are leaving at 8am from Tesco Winnal and it usually takes me 1hr15m from home in Hedge End.
Anyone else is welcome to tag along!!

Thanks for that. I might meet you but it's quite early seeing as I'll be with my girlfriend! I'll have to see if I can get her up that early! Hopefully I'll be there, I'll be in my blue Audi S4.

Thanks for letting us tag along with you and the other Ferrari’s, Geoff. We both had a really good day out and loved being in convoy with the Ferrari’s. After having the 355 following us and then watching (and listening to!) the racing 355’s going round Castle Combe I’m really tempted to sell the boat and my Audi and buy an early 355 GTS and an old shed. I expect I’d get a lot more use out of it than the boat! Looks like you have a really good owners club too. Very tempting, just storage would be the issue, and maybe insurance.

Good to see you again. I got some good photos too which I may post up if I get time. My dads friend was racing, he was in his TT and seemed to do pretty well in the AAA Saloons.

I'd maybe go for a good 328 GTS ad they are cheap to insure, service and own and are going up in value at the moment. If you decide to I'll come along if you want to view one as I know a bit about them. The owners club members are a great bunch, young and old and we have made some great friendships!

Thanks for your kind offer Geoff. The main problem is going to be convincing the other half that she needs to use her half of the boat money to buy a Ferrari which she won't be able to get insured on!! She had an accident last year so lost all her NCB and got 3 points recently. Also, she's younger than me.

Sensible head back on, we really should spend the money on a house! Will look into 328's though, nice cars.
