Hi guys, anyone know of any firms that do bore honing in the Portsmouth area. If they also do head work then that's a bonus.

Cheers

Try Banda Engineering, Herbert St, Portsmouth, PO1 4QR - 02392 828224. They've always done excellent work for me, with a quick turnaround & good prices.

What about engine balancing in portsmouth? Is it worth it?

Well, i had it back for 3 days and something wasn't right it then melted the pistons. (basically an error in the seup).

its all being sorted so i'm happy, however as the engine is out I'm doing the following:

Forged pistons with ceramic coating and various other little bits done to them.
Upgraded big end and main bearings
Uprated valve springs
ARP rod and head bolts
Gearbox has gone to be strengthened
Clutch has gone to be beefed up

Should be good for 400bhp and safe with the potential to run a bit more boost to push it up to about 425bhp. Only going to run 1bar so just under 400 probably at least for a few months as it would be nice to drive it smile

Not getting it back until about december frown

P.S. You did ask. lol

Sounds like a good plan! Shame about the December thing, but should mean touch wood (heads to the New Forest), that you should get some proper use out of it next year. Melted a piston Ouch!
