Very nice - how does it compare to the RS6?
Very different indeed. The RS6 was like a plough, hell bent on dragging the horizon toward it no matter the obsticle. It was a fantastic all weather cruiser and all that torque (550lb/ft) made overtaking super quick and very effortless. It was stupid fast in a straight line but really didnt feel comfortable on the bends. The fantastic engine was knocked back by the chocolate gearbox that Renn Sport had fitted and i wont miss the constant worry of it failing. The M5 however feels much more agile. Its delicate, accurate, light on its feet, nimble and really loves the bends. Its also very quick in a straight line but you do need to get up into the higher revs to extract the full 507bhp. It is smaller than the RS6 but not so small that i feel its lacking room. Its more likely the RS6 had more room that it really needed. Ive heard stories about the reliability of the SMG but surely there's no way it can be as much of risk as the RS6.
To be honest, the similarities between the two cars only go as far as them both being estates and both having 4 wheels. Its a whole different experience and im gonna love learning the traits of the Bavarian beast. The sound track of the V10 will help too.
EXCELLENT choice! GLad to see you took the plunge
NOW get the headers, ram scoops, pulleys then get the remap and top speed limiter removed and enjoy 5570 bhp
You will also get another 50lb/ft torque which you're right it does need as it can be a pain in the ass to keep it at high rpm range all the time!

Steady on there Mark. Lol. I think I'm going to leave her stock for a while and just enjoy it for what it is. Maybe next year I'll look at headers etc. I will however be looking at getting the wheels done in grey, the windows tinted a little and maybe black out the chrome gills and front grill. The rest is just sweet as is.

I think you're right, naturally I'm biased though! But I reckon the carbhon fibre grills and gills will look great on the black! Slight tint on the back and you're there

Noooo, the RS6 was
!
Hey-ho, M5 seems a logical and decent step along! The Touring appeals to me at least much more than the Saloon... How does the power delivery and handing/grip etc compare with the Audi? The RS6s seem more get in and drive(FAST) where the M5 seem to have a plethora of settings for everything, though I'm sure they're simpler than they're made out to be...
