Evening Chaps
Been offered a job in Canford but was wandering what the daily drive would be like. Leaving at say 06:30 and returning maybe 16:30. According to AA route master this should take me 67mins. I guess at this time of year that is OK. However what would it be like in the summer with holiday traffic. I already drive to Windsor an back each day so the milage is not a prob.
Cheers
Barrie

Could be stinky on occassions - M27 is usually ok , just the new forest bit that will cause the delays if any .
If the traffic is flowing and you're happy to make progress , I have done m27 j12 to Wimborne in 50 mins on many occasions in various low powered sheds.
If you can be past Ringwood by about 7 am it should be fine , much after that you would be taking a bit of a gamble . I don't know what time the evening traffic builds these days though !

To get to Canford (assuming its the one in Poole. near Gravel Hill and Ferndown) you'll have to get through the obvious A/M27 and then onto the A35 past Ringwood. Thats the easy bit. Hitting Ferndown at the wrong time can be a killer. Then you've either got to get onto the bypass round to Gravel Hill or through Ferndown and Longham (which is hell 75% of the time). Get throught there and you should be ok. I'd say its a masive risk and no single day will be like the next. Ive been stuck in Longham for an hour before and its regularly being dug up.

I think the am will be fine. At least on the mw at that time. But on the way back it' might be a pain j5 to j8 Is usually slow so is j9, a31 after j1 can go wrong. It's a bit of a lottery. I do it every day.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Did a dummy run yesterday, jam on M27 then fine on the A31 until it goes down into one lane and another jam.
Sat in the car thinking this not good and if it is like this now what would it be like in the summer sat behind a caravan.
Journey back not to bad, but that was at 2pm. So all things considered I think I will be giving Canford a miss.
