I've been offered a couple of 'nearly new 7mm' part-worn tyres for the shed at next to nothing. However, I am concious that some fitters won't fit part-worn tyres, even if they are virtually new.

I'm based just north of Brighton but happy to travel a bit if required.

Any recommendations?

Any respectable tyre place should still fit them...It's normally £15 a tyre, balanced & fitted. You have Discount Tyres Direct in Worthing which are superb & I'd recommend smile

Fubar knows an excellent firm in Brighton too.

& depending on far north you are from Brighton...East Grinstead tyres, in E.Grinstead too. Again £60 for all 4 to be done.

Mobile tyres, Brighton

They sell part worn so shouldn't have a problem and they know what they are doing!

I bought a set of new tyres off the net and I had the devils own job finding someone to fit them for a reasonable price.

Most flat refused bacause they didn't supply them, and a few quoted me a frankly ridiculous 80 to 100 quid for 4.

I finally found somewhere for 50 quid. And I still thought that was a bit pricey? Maybe I expected too much.

Thanks chaps.

Ended up going to Blackrock Tyres in Brighton, near the marina.

Got two part-worn tyres with 8mm (ie.. virtually new) supplied and fitted for next to nothing. Highly recommended and will definitely use again for the daily.
