First of all I am new here, so Hello PH Forums smile!

Do you have a sports/performance car you can give a newly married couple a lift in please!?

I am getting married to my lovley fiance at the end of March this year in the Bournemouth area.

I am looking for a wedding car that can be used to bring the bride then groom to the church (1.5 mile journey) then from the church to the reception (14 mile journey).

Since hire companies are VERY VERY expensive for sports and performance cars, and I am 23 so im to young to hire a sports car (and some might say to get married...!) I thought I would ask here and see what repsonce I may get.

I am willing to pay between £200 and £300 depending on the car, and literally all we would need is the journeys discribed above, for you to drive us.

Any nice to look at car will do, it would need to fit you as a driver plus myself and my soon to be wife, somthing that is eye catching and sporty would be fantastic,

Maybe post a picture or details of the car you could offer for consideration?

This is a serious offer, and would really make my day if this works out.

Thanks,

Nick

Erm!! Why do we keep getting these people turning up and posting 'can i borrow your car' type topics? And on the first post!!

We dont mind helping out PHers when they are in need, but you are not a PHer. Youve only got 1 post and to be honest its not the best start for a newbie. Why dont you do yourself a favour and leave via 'stage left', then come back under a different name. Get a few hundred friendly post under your belt, attend some meets and then ask if we can help you out. Might get a positive response there.

If anyone feels tempted to help then please bear in mind that this might (like its not obvious) be a trap. Ive seen these threads on the ferrari, audi, lambo forums and every so often you see someone take the bait. Ive seen at least 2 carjacks set up this way. One was a wedding car request and the other was a prom car request. Be warned.

Who was robbed of their car? On this site?

Not on this site, i think people are too wise on here. An RS246 member had their car jacked at a supposed 'prom car' pick up. Luckily the car was recovered within 15 mins, there wasnt enough fuel for a decent getaway. The other one was in the states. I believe it was a brand new Corvette. He'd arranged to meet the wedding couple afew weeks before the wedding to verify the car. He was jumped and the car was taken. Not sure if it was recovered.

Hi ecain63,

Sorry, I do appreciate I am new here, but the wedding is in March, so dont think I can get any decent post count up in that time.

I can assure you this is a legit request, I was simply thinking of the best place to ask people with a nice car, who might want to earn some cash and help me out.

If I could ask for anyone who knows of any companies in the area that offer this service, that would be equally useful smile

But as I said before, being 23 means I cant usually get insurance for hire cars so would need to have a driver.

Appologies if I have appeared too forward in my request.

WOW! A while 2 cases in the US and UK? Im pretty sure stats would show that's theft occures more when people pretend to be interested in buying the car than in these cases..

^^ OK! You volunteer your car then. How comfortable would you feel about it. Only 2 cases I know of, but that's because most people ignore the request or tell the OP to 'do one'!

I would usually not mind helping someone out in this situation, however after helping someone on piston heads out last year with delivering a young girl to a prom with the promise of a drive of his Lp670 murci that never happened, I wouldnt do it. Just not worth the grief. Too many takers, not enough givers.

I'll give you a lift in my Fiesta.

It's an ST185 if that makes a difference. I know, it's no LP670 but there's enough room for one in the back.

I'll only charge you £150 too. Quids in (Y)

Thanks for the offer James!

Very nice car indeed, have to check with the missus then will get back to you on that one, ahh the joys of marrage....
Do you have some more pics of the car (other than the one on your profile), and would you mind some ribbons going on the car, the ususal white wedding stlye ones.

Loopyleesa : Afriad your tip has come a little too late in the day, already paid for the reception so have to get married otherwise thats a lot of waisted booze.

In the mean while, any other offers also welcomed.

Sorry for the late reply but I have had to ring around. I have your problem sorted, my dad is willing to lent me his V plate Renault Scenic with only minor rust patches. Its normally used for carrying around his gardening tools but he said he will give it a quick vacuuming out and a spray of Glade. He said £300 is fine as long as its cash in hand. Where shall I pick you up!! I will wear a clean tracksuit as well. I love weddings.

We only have room for one Passenger unless they wish to go in separate lamborghinis.... Not sure turning up in separate cars is a good start to a new union wink
