Chaps, I need a couple of front tyres very soon (and maybe rears too) as they're getting close to the depth indicators. This is for the Z. I've tried explaining to my friend that I don't need something that offers incredible grip but roars like a Vulcan which he doesn't fully understand - I need more of an all rounder. Any recommendations?

Surprisingly the people on the ZS forum seem to highly recommend Kumho KU-31's. All the reviews I have read on them have also been very positive, so is my mistrust wrongly placed?

I had Kumho Ecsta Sport on my BMW and I thought they were great, even with TC turned off!
But for the same price you could probably get Falken FK-452's which are probably a slightly better tyre.

Have you heard of these guys http://www.blackcircles.com/ which is a much cheaper way than somewhere like Quickfit!

I have indeed - that's where i've been looking, along with mytyres and a couple of others wink

FK-452s aren't available in 205/45/17 unfortunately and 40's would make the ride a little unpleasant I think, whilst 215's don't fit very well - otherwise I'd have gone with the 452s for sure smile

Went with Falken ZE-912's, as they seem to be a performance comfort type tyre - not as grippy as the FK-452's but that's OK as it's going to have a (reasonably) easy life smile

£126 the pair from Camskill

That's a good price, but you have to get them fitted, do you know someone?

I always pop into local Quick fit early on a Sunday, flutter my eyelids and ask nicely and they fit them cheap enough!

There's a place just down the road from me that'll do it for £11 a corner, or else there's a ProTyre in Fareham where I think it's £14. smile

These ones do look quite pretty too...

The only good thing about Fareham is that it's on the way out of Gosport wink

rofl

I was going to suggest Toyo T1R's, sounds like you've got it covered, my mate had Kumho's on his hateful Mondeo V6 and his E30 Beemer too, seemed to work well.

X2 for Toyo, got them on the BMW, only thing is the side Walls are not as stiff as some other tyres.

Yeah, the Toyos weren't available in XL for some reason in my size...

But yes. And Camskill get a big thumbup from me too, as despite ordering them past their 1pm cutoff, I still got an email from them with the tracking number saying they had been dispatched, and then on checking the tracking this morning they were loaded on the van at 6:04 this morning and are out for delivery smile

Agreed, on recommendation from Nick, I bought a set for the Ibiza. Awesome grip, but do tend to wear out rather quick (or that may just be me).
