Potential job offered as a Goldsmith.
Discussion
Hi guys. This is a call for anyone who is interested in, or knows of anyone who'd be interested in starting a career as a goldsmith / jeweller. My most senior member of staff is well beyond retirement age and with the onset of ill health and the usual old aged niggles im not sure how long he will remain under my roof. Plus he's an ex-Para! lol
So, what im looking for is a youngster who would be looking to get into this line of work as a career rather than a stepping stone to somwhing else. Its potentially a job for life and as im only 29 myself there are many years of employment ahead. The boss (father in-law) is also retiring in a year or so, so i'll be in need of more hands on deck to fill the gaps.
The candidate needs to be good with his / her hands. I came into the buisness from the Marines and had no real hands on skills other than an ability to strip, clean and rebuild weapons and tinker with cars. Candidates will be assessed on their potental to learn the trade. They also need to be very trustworthy. We handle a lot of high value items and we cannot afford to employ anybody who may cause us issues. We open early, around 08.00 so they also need to be willing to sacrifice that extra half hour in bed.
We are a very relaxed bunch here and we don't take things too seriously - appart from our work which needs to be 110% perfect. I wear shorts and t-shirt 90% of the year so things are vey informal and you can expect plenty of banter across the bench. Pay and other aspects will be discussed as and when we find a suitable candidate. We also have allocated parking spaces in Bournemouth so that makes things cheaper and easier for all concerned.
If you fancy a having a go for a few days to let us see if you are up to it or just fancy a chat with regards to what we expect then feel free to inbox me and i'll get back to you asap. We are in no urgent need to fill the slot but if you fit the bill we can see about getting you a seat sooner rather than later.
I look forward to your response,
Eddie

No, it needs to be 100% perfect. You aren't footballers with 1.4 brain cells, you are (I hope) intelligent jewellers consistently delivering stunning craftsmanship. Sorry, that sounds really arsey doesn't it? But the 110% sounds like some bright spark on the apprentice who gets kicked off in week 2 and ends up running the Labour Party.

Did sound a little bit arsey but that's ok as I see your point. What I should have said is that we go above and beyond with our level of quality and attention to detail.Sorry, that sounds really arsey doesn't it?
