Thumbs up from a Traffic Car?

Whilst going for a quick hoon yesterday around my local stomping ground (A27 - Chichester) i don't know whether my eyes we're deceiving me, but i'm sure i got the thumbs up from a BMW 5 Series estate (marked) traffic car going in the opposite direction.

I was obviously behaving myself :-), but if any of the BIB do read this - thought i'd say hello from the Black /Orange GT3 RS traveling in the opposite direction
