hi guys,

supposedly the sun may peek through the clouds tomorrow, so i took the opportunity to book lunch in Littlehampton. If I were to set off from Wimbledon at a leisurely, roof-down pace and three hours in hand, can you south-coasters recommend a good non-motorway route? Maybe some decent country roads and nice scenery?

cheers!

You'll probably have to do a stretch of main road. A3 out to Guildford, Then take your pick really, head either down to Godalming, Haslemere, Fernhurst, Chichester, Bognor. Or take Petworth to Chichester, that brings you out the Goodwood side and down to Littlehampton that way.

Sorry not very descriptive but if you take these rough ideas and check on a map you'll get my drift.

I managed to edit it but it didn't show a route, but Guildford, Petworth, Arundel is a way to do it yes.

I'd go a3 to chessington, then head for a24, stay on that almost the whole way. Some nice roads and pretty direct

Whichever route you take (and I'd recommend A3 to just past Guildford then across country to Petworth) you have to stop at the Goodwood circuit as this is on tomorrow smile

One of the best. And I echo the comments about Goodwood too. It's the law that you are not allowed to pass without dropping in yes
