Heads up folks... I got a tug today and a few points for speedingnono, while chatting to the cop he informed me they are operating a clamp down on this section of road using unmarked cars to record your speed and then a marked car laying in wait further up the road. Fair cop 'n' all that, I deserved it, just glad I wasn't in the Porker or I feel I may have been going a little quickerwhistle

So be careful kids, it's not big and it's not clever and ends up costing £60.00

Good shout - I've been using that route a bit recently in the mornings heading up to a client. Watch out for the unmarked BMW 130i...dark grey. VERY subtle!

To be fair I have seen them a couple of time recently when i have been a little late into work, they were sat on the bridge but it now looks like covert op's is the method of choice....

Yep, I use this road everyday, lots of unmarked cars pulling motorists over the last few weeks. Also seen them on the bridges, they have got you before you see them, my colleague got done and he thought he had slowed down enough when he saw them.

I count myself some what lucky as I have used this road at least twice every working day for over 10 years and not been caught until now, and I am sure I have drifted over 70 at least a few times in that period...

Think I've been caught this week by the camera on the bridge frown do Sussex allow you to do the speed awareness course instead of points?

Used to do some silly speeds along that road as I used to live in Havant and work in Arundel... glad they weren't really doing their jobs back then! Ah well. To be expected. There's been a total crackdown on speed on the weird little island I live on now... although I feel they're using the wrong terminology. Surely that implies they didn't give a toss before?

Were there yesterday afternoon too. Looked like cameras on the bridge previous then they were on the roundabout at J11.

Good shout.

I'm running the engine in and although 4k rpm limit it just over a ton, I have to keep flooring it from around 60 to get the boost in to help bed the rings.

Been doing this all week so I'll have to be careful now.

Hmm, I was westbound on the M27 yesterday between J12 and J11 and on one of the bridges after Port Solent there were 3 tripods set up with cables trailing away. Couldn't/didn't see the vehicle they were linked to and no signs of any chase vehicles. Was about 10:30.

Its a bit of a strange stretch really as most traffic cops avoid it because once you commit past Emsworth you have to go all the way to Chi to turn if a job comes in in say Pompey. Most of it is Sussex' but they don't seem to patrol it much either probably for the same reasons. I dont see the issue really as it is very open and there are no on/off slips to worry about. I think it should be de-restricted autobahn stylee personally!!

Without making issue about this road or the Gentlemen that are charged with monitoring the more excitable members of the public, but many, many moons ago, (not long after the road actually opened), I was pulled over by the local constabulary very late one night and met with the words 'Good Morning Group Captain, having trouble getting airborne are we?'.... After a good 'petrolhead' type chat I was advised to 'moderate my enthusiasm' and sent on my way... Bless them...
