PistonHead Ruled Normal Head!
Discussion
Well as some of you South Coast PH'ers know my SRT8 has gone and I initially ordered a diesel 110Hdi Citroen DS3 Dsport to replace it (sensible head saw economic driving), however, after a month of tossing and turning I decided to cancel the order and go for the DS3 Racing instead, so hopefully not too long and you'll see me scooting around in one like this, shouldn't be too hard to spot on the South's roads!!

That's where it all started to go wrong! From day one after I decided to order the Hdi DS3 I had these real feelings of regret and have done so for the last month. My diesel was being delayed due to parts supply issues and I finally got wind it may not have been built until mid-May for June delivery, at the same time I found out the DS3 Racing should be a June build for July delivery.
When I popped in to Freeborns to check the status I've mine I saw the DS3 Racing in the showroom and fell for it, sat inside touched the real carbon fibre and was hooked.
That one in the showroom is for sale, but technically not by the dealer, someone bought it on speculation and wants about £2.5k more than RRP, he's apparantly put an order in for the new McLaren too..................
Apart from the usual anti-French brigade, the DS3 Racing has has very positive reviews and when you start to dig deeper, you can see the justification for the price increase over the THP150 version, oddly it's also cheaper to tax and returns better MPG than the THP150 too.
Final one for me yesterday was the fact that it's only £10 a year more to insure than the diesel version (which is still 50% less than the SRT8 (just around £220 FC Protected)).
My order reservation number was 0159 which may indicate there are only 41 left to order.

RS Megane FTW !

I know where you're coming from Dan, as an ex-182 full fat owner, the Renault Sport range is very nice, unfortunately the Citroen's looks pipped the Megane to the post for me, and was also a little cheaper too (there's far too many expensive goodies I'd want on the Meggy!!)

The local Renault dealer didn't have Megan coupe in stock.
I do really like the DS3R, I sat in it for the first time today. The bloke who ordered it in wants a 2.5k premium, but if i ordered one now I could have it by July, so I think he's got high hopes!

I can understand the premium if it was the last one and they were all sold out.

Well I have phoned the dealer who has just told me has just sold it.. to a couple who had heard it was in stock through PistonHeads! I wonder who it is? And when you have it would you kindly show me it?
Ah,

A friend who was lending me a car until July let me down this morning, so I had to sort something out quick for transport, and I um, popped in to Aldershot as I was nearby at Blackbushe this morning and I , um, oh, I feel bad now........................
