- Bottle & Glass, Rainford
- Houghwood Golf, Billinge
- Carvery (cheap and cheerful - notable decent ones are Lymewood Farm on the East Lancs at Haydock, and the Vale Royal near Gathurst, Wigan).

I thought I'd replied to this but my mind must be going!

Southport - Try Finos Tapas ( Southport Tapas) near to the theatre on the front. Something a bit different to the usual roast.

Crosby/Waterloo - Be different, try a midday Indian. I recommend The gate of India on South Road. (Check openings, not sure if they're still open at lunchtimes - used to be).

Bispham Green (Nr Mawdesley/Parbold) - The Eagle & Child for lovely pub grub.
