Good morning,

I'm planning a wee trip to the Scottish Iles this summer and will need an overnight stop in the Peak District. Can anyone reccommend a good place to eat and a nice B&B in the area? I don't want to be along way from the motorway as I have to get a ferry at 1300 to Islay.

Thanks,

Pete

I thought Keswick was in the Lake District. We've recently stayed at Wynford Guest House, Ambleside, which was really good - nice room, hearty breakfast, warm welcome, sensible parking if you're fussy about where you leave your car.

If you mean the Peak District - can't help, sorry.

If we are talking lake district, then try Gilpin Lodge, that is the dogs there, they have a good web site to view it

Sorry, I meant the Lake District. Bain wasn't working yesterday it seems!

Keswick is 18 miles from the motorway but if you're OK to travel that distance I'd recommend either Underscar Manor or Lyzick Hall outside town or one of the many small hotels based on 'The Heads' between Keswick centre and Derwentwater.

If you need to be close to the M6 look I'd look at the Sharrow Bay, Ullswater or somewhere in Penrith.
