Just a heads up for this one.

It's generally a classic car show. I understand you need to enter in advance rather than turn up and show your car.

Starts about 5pm and everyone seems to slope off just before it gets dark.

Well worth a look.

There should be more details on tinterweb if you do a search.

Look out for Wakefield Motor Club's array of competition vehicles which I understand will include a Nissan Micra worth in excess of £7.00

I'll be going along to this in the mx5. It was very good last year with a 'record turnout' though I'm sure the cracking weather had a lot to do with that!

I didnt pre-enter last year either, just turned up at the gate quite early on, paid a small fee and was waved in.

Well worth a look for any local smile

Its a fantastic show, starts at 4 though. The Ferrari Club of Yorkshire are attending again this year, with the 599 GTO that came along to the Leeds Ferrari meet the other day http://i56.tinypic.com/2gtuihd.jpg, the 288 GTO won't be coming this year, and i'll see if my uncle will go down with his TR6, he entered it on the day last year, only £3 for last minute arrivals IIRC, there will also be a fella whos 50's Ford I had a photoshoot with the other week heading down. http://tomnorton.kuvat.fi/kuvat/050%20copy.jpg/ful...

Is this literally just a car show or is there anything else on?

There are other "attractions" like fire engines, steam thingies that make a row, refreshment stands and a few stalls selling stuff. Not sure if Mickey Mouse is scheduled to make an appearance or not for the sprog. Google it, there's galleries from previous years which should give you some idea.

Brill - suns out, early finish later on this afternoon. I'll get the camera charged and give the car a quick rinse, should be fun.

Just back from Wakefield, think this was probably my favourite, just love the old Type 49 racing colours.

And did anyone notice that random Ferrari thing, which is a terrible replica based on a Porsche 944 S2, and then the Fake Ferrari CS, instantly could tell it was fake, BBS wheels, Glass rear window, Normal 360 splitter and no CS badge...but otherwise a great show!

That is cool, he's even stripped the paint off to save weight like the old Merc silver arrows.driving

First time at the Wakefield car show. A really good evening and fortunately the weather held out too. Such a mix of cars and bikes.

Below is a link with my photos from the day. I am in the course of uploading them through the weekend.

Well fone to Fleur de Lys classic car club for organising the event!!!
