Would prefer city centre / eccy road but a little outside is no bad thing.

Don't fancy indian tonight, and probabaly not Oriental - other than that - the world is your oyster.....

Moran's on Abbeydale Road South is one of my favourites:

You do have to book though as it's always full at the weekends.

It's chain-tastic but I had a very nice meal at the Zizzi place in Leopold Square - quite a few alternatives there too but it got very busy as the night went on.

If i'm in sheffield, i try to get to pho68 as often as i can, but the OP did say oriental is out, so not for him i guess

I like Pho68. Its a decent place.

The Milestone was very good, had a really good meal in a nice enough place, decent atmosphere, with good service.

Nothign to complain about and would come recomended.

Morans is on the list to try now, and so is Artisan.
