Quick heads-up. This weekend Harewood Hill hosts a round of the British hillclimb Championship.

Lots of fast cars and drivers there, inc the likes of Scott Moran.

Rumour has it the weather may even be warm and dry... ;-)

I'll be there in car No 150 if you want to say hello in the paddock.

might pop along, building a road going locost with the intention of doing some sprints and hillclimbs so would be good to have a look at whats going on at the minute

Is your caterham a rover K series?

edit : should have read the profile first silly

Yep, based on the same engine as a Rover 25 biggrin

It's had a 'few' mods, meaning it pushes out a little bit more power and sounds a bit different... ;-) cool

Joking aside, despite it's pedigree, a 1600cc Rover K-series can push out the best part of 250bhp if properly sorted....and that's normally aspirated, none of this hairdryer turbo stuff ;-) Oh, and if you have a decently casted non-porous cylinder head, the right liner heights set and a decent quality gasket, the urban myth of an enevitable K-series head gasket failure disapears.

sounds good, originally built ours for the locost race series but then put it on a 1600 crossflow with twin 40's main priority being to finish it and run it reliably for a while, and learn how to drive it properly as i've been driving around in a subaru for a few years which is quite different!

once we've had some fun doing that may look at other engines depending on the usual factors of budget and how it fits in with life in general
