Well at least it can't be everywhere at once.

360 degree coverage, mobile phone, no seatbelt.

Sounds like a right mini hitler van.

"encourage motorcyclists to ride more carefully."

Be seeing that near Sherburn then.

I don't get the claims of it being the first mobile camera. They're often to be found along the tt road. They're were in chop gate last week in a car.

I disagree Mark

Using a phone and not wearing a seat belt are proven dangerous

but some people I know who sometimes break a speed limit
are a lot less likely to have an accident than others I know
who never break the limit and therefore feel they are good drivers(and can cause accidents)

I was talking to the pilot of a Russian aerobatic aircraft last weekend
and got onto how we are stifled in all areas these days, there is no adventure and soon
we won't be allowed to blow our own noses for fear of having a nose bleed

Thats fair enough. I meant it more in the way it sounds like its designed to keep looking until it finds something to ticket you for.

Loud exhaust anyone wink.

Driving is dangerous. To some people holding a conversation with a passenger while driving is dangerous as they prioritise the conversation. Using a phone while driving is no different. As for wearing a seatbelt don't even get me started.

On the A64 between malton junctions this afternoon. Gonna have a nervous wait as I was doing circa 75-80 briefly to get round a caravan before I eased off then noticed it in the lay by.

What sort of threshold do they operate on? Standard 10% +2?

Not sure if it's the same in North Yorks but elsewhere the thresholds are changing to make points harder to achieve and more use of speed awareness courses at the lower exceedences. In theory it would be a course rather than points at that speed, assuming you were in a car and on a D/C.

I reckon I might have been caught by it twice today, I totally didn't expect to see it.

What are the chances of getting away with a speed awareness course? (assuming they only going one way) I reckon I was doing 35/36 in a 30. No previous convictions.

Do they publish the exact locations? If not then I think we need to setup a database.

It was in Haxby about 3.30, either there are two of them or it soon shifted!

To the guy that was doing at least 100+ down the A64 from Scarborough today in an unmarked Grey BMW what was all that about?

He was on the A19 south of York at Escrick & he pulled the bloke behind me, who had been on the phone all the way down from the A64. I didn`t spot him until the headlight flash & blue light appeared in the mirror. Van is navy blue if that helps, but actually pleased to see it in action for this!
